Ontario is such a fantastic place to call home, with beaches sprawling across the great lakes providing stunning views. Attached to towns and cities filled with charm and activities for a weekend getaway with friends and family. 

Summer is here and this heatwave is calling for floaties, beach towels & extra sunscreen. Here is a quick guide to some of Barrett Realty Advantages favorite beach spots.                                                                


1. Sauble Beach

Sauble Beach was recently named one of the 'Top 10 Beaches in the World' by the Toronto Star. With seven kilometers of stunning sandy beaches, Sauble Beach is the second longest freshwater beach in the world! Which means activities for the whole family from swimming, kiteboard, building castle, jet-ski's, kayaking and volleyball.

2. Port Stanley

Port Stanley, Ontario, is a cute town located on Lake Erie, the locals are fantastic and show their pride in the local beach. This beach has been awarded Blue Flag status for water quality and overall cleanliness. The best part? These sandy shores are accessible for everyone from wheelchairs to strollers - so everyone can enjoy the sun with family and friends.

185 meters of the beach strip, include clean facilities, covered picnic area's, restaurants, ice cream shops & more! This beach is quiet and the crowds are rare. 3. Wasaga Beach

High on the list of best beaches in Ontario, we wouldn't leave out the famous Wasaga Beach. Each season tourists gather and visit this popular beach centrally located from both Toronto and the Golden Horseshoe. Located on Georgian Bay, this beach features shallow waters which allow for the perfect temperature for swimming.

Popular for both families and young partygoers, Wasaga Beach is an eclectic, vibrant town to enjoy the perfect summer weekend. Stretching 14 km it is known as one of the longest freshwater beaches in the world & every square inch is white sand & clear water!

4. Tobermory

Located at the top of the Bruce Peninsula, Tobermory is almost entirely surrounded by water, with Lake Huron on one side and Georgian Bay on the other. This majestic town offers two National Parks, endless water activities and some of the darkest star-struck night sky's you will ever see. 

Perfect for adrenaline and nature enthusiasts, towering cliffs from the Niagara Escarpment allow for climbers of all skill levels and hiking trails to soak up nature.

5. Cobourg Beach

A perfect getaway located one-an-a-half-hours outside of Toronto or an hour train ride. Located in Cobourg on the shore of Lake Ontario offer crystal clear waters and soft sand.
